-Being well rested helps your body handle the session better.
Eat a Meal Before Your Appointment:
-A full stomach will keep your energy levels stable during the session.
Bring Snacks and a Drink:
-Sugary snacks like candy or juice can help maintain energy levels.
Mentally Prepare Yourself:
-Pain is temporary, but tattoos are forever.
Pre-Shaving is Appreciated (But Not Required):
-If you’re comfortable, shave the area, but avoid cuts or irritation.
Avoid Sunburn:
-Do not expose the area to the sun before your appointment.
Inform the Artist About Numbing Agents:
-If you’re considering using numbing creams or sprays, let your artist know in advance.
During the appointment
Ready as you’ll ever be…
Don’t be afraid to ask for a break.
Yes, you can wear headphones and watch/ listen to your phone. Distractions do help, a little.
I don’t bite, let’s talk story. I love getting to know my clients and hearing your stories.
If you have to adjust let me know. I will do my best to make you as comfortable as possible.
It’s okay to “tap out”. Tattoos are forever and under no circumstance will I rush a tattoo. If you can not take anymore we can always set up another session.
Post Appointment/Aftercare
You did it! Now what…
NO ocean/pool/swimming activities for 2 weeks
Keep your tattoo clean. Simply take water and hand soap on a paper towel and gently wipe your tattoo. Do not soak your tattoo under water. KEEPING YOUR TATTOO DRY IS KEY
You want your tattoo to dry out. Give it a few days before applying non scented lotion
Lotion is not necessary for the healing process. (Personally I do not use lotion during the healing process) But if you want to use lotion use any non scented lotion and apply a very THIN coat.
Do not wrap your tattoo in any form of bandage, and refrain from tight clothing. Allowing your tattoo to breathe will help the healing process
Yes you can be active with a fresh tattoo. Again do not wrap your tattoo or use tight clothing. If you are working out/ running/ playing sports. It is best to let your tattoo be free and just wipe the sweat off when able, then clean as soon as your done.
Body areas that inevitably bend, stretch, or are high contact points (i.e knees, elbows, fingers, hands) may take longer to heal.
Touch ups. To avoid scarring I will not touch up or work on any healing tattoos. I will let it fully heal before going back into a tattoo (about a month)
If you have any questions and/or concerns please do not be afraid to reach out to me.
